Sunset Sports Are Back – Beyond the Sunset Series Returns to Hudayriyat Island
After a record-breaking edition in 2024, Beyond the Sunset Series is back for an even bigger third edition. Taking place across two weekends, 17–18 May and 31 May–1 June 2025. This after-hours race series offers cooler air, stunning coastal routes, and one high-energy atmosphere.
Run. Ride. Swim. Skate. Choose your sport – or take on more than one – and compete against the setting sun. With professionally timed distances, cash prizes up for grabs, and races open to all ages and abilities, it’s set to be one of this summer’s most accessible and exciting community events

Ride — Beyond the Sunset
Late starts. Fast laps. Race the island circuit with purpose. Designed for seasoned cyclists and everyday riders alike, you will find plenty of space to move, compete and connect. This is ride culture, redefined.
Location: Cycling Track, Hudayriyat Island
Date: Saturday, 31 May
Timings: 17:00 to 20:30
Age limit: All ages welcome
Races: Men 40.5 km (6 age categories), Women 27 km (5 age categories), Juniors 20 km (2 age categories), Juniors 10 km (2 age categories)
Prizes*: AED 200-500
Entry fee: AED 65-80
*Prize money will be awarded to the top three winners in each age group in men’s 40.5 km and women’s 27 km ride only. There will be no prize money for the junior rides.
Skate — Beyond the Sunset
Skating, after hours. This community skate event welcomes all levels — from experienced racers to casual rollers. A smooth track, cooler hours and full energy across every distance.
Location: Cycling Track, Hudayriyat Island
Date: Sunday, 1 June
Timings: 17:00 to 21:00
Age limit: All ages welcome
Races: 10 km (4 age categories), 5 km (6 age categories), 3 km (5 age categories)
Prizes*: AED 100-500
Entry fee: AED 65-80
*Prize money will be awarded to the top three winners in each age group in both Male and Female category of the 10 km and 5 km skate only. There will be no prize money for the 3 km time trial.
